HOLIDAYS WORKSHOPS

HOLIDAY WORKSHOPS | TERM PROGRAMMEline

Learn
- The palettes of the Masters
- To mix all colours from a few
-  What your own palette of colours are

Did you know that the yellow pigment is one of the most expensive pigments in paint?  It can cost as much as twice the price of other colour pigments.

Did you know that pigments were mixed from naturally occuring oxides and that these were ground by young apprentices in workshops of the Masters for years before they were allowed to hold a brush?  Some artists today still make their own paints for specially commissioned work.

Did you know that each new colour that appeared for the first time in art history drew 'oohs' and 'aahs', and a following of fans for the Master Artist who created it?  Some colours never existed in paintings before they were mixed by the Masters.

We have MANY EXCITING workshops:

2-Dimensional - Drawing and Painting - to 3-Dimensional - Sculpture in Clay and Metal

We are ONE-STOP STUDIO for your child's learning in visual arts!

For Example,

For 5-12 year olds

Our Holiday Workshop is to introduce the young student to the Magical World of Art and Art History.

As parents, we have limited time and resource.  So too our children.  KinderArt's workshops are therefore designed to teach general knowledge about art as well as how to draw and paint.  They are designed to teach children the expressive language in art - students are encouraged to talk about their art in language that artists and exhibitors use.  They learn confidence and poise.

They will learn in  2 days or 4 half-days about:
Master Artists and their works
-   Henri Matisse
-   Georges Seurat
-   Vincent Van Gogh
-   Claude Monet

At the end of the workshop, the student can identify the works of these great artist by identifying colours used, brushwork, concept and philosophy.  The student chooses to complete two pieces of work in two distinct styles, going through the process of art preparation like the Masters - sketching, tracing, transferring, painting, completing and talking about their art.

This is a workshop like none other.  It is developed with the objective of giving young people understanding as well as a love for the arts.
